Reviews and Ratings
The hotel's rooms, although different from the pictures, were well maintained and very clean. The common area/lobby with a garden view was a pleasant surprise. The service was exceptional with staff speaking excellent English and offering genuine hospitality. The location was good, within walking distance of many temples, although not ideal for central Kyoto. The dining experience introduced us to new Japanese food options. Overall, a comfortable stay with friendly service.
Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. While the semi open air onsen was a unique touch, the rooms were not as clean or nice as expected, and the lack of a view was disappointing. The service, however, was exceptionally warm, friendly, and accommodating, especially towards my pregnant wife. The location, despite being close to some beautiful temples and gardens, felt cluttered and a bit dated. The dining experience, set in a lovely garden, had its charm but lacked variety in the menu.
I was delighted with my stay at this traditional ryokan. The rooms are beautiful and serene, although the common area didn't overlook a garden as I initially thought. The service was exceptional, with attentive and warm staff assisting with every need. The location, while not perfect, is peaceful and near important attractions like Nanzenji Temple. The dining experience in the Japanese-style room was inspiring, but the proximity to the subway was a slight inconvenience.
Staying at this ryokan was a real treat with its beautiful rooms overlooking the koi pond and the private spa upstairs with a lovely view of the backyard. While the room was amazing, the price could be a bit high for some.
The location of the hotel is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat with a countryside feel while still being close to the city. The rooms are clean and overlook some trees and the highway, but the furniture is dated. The service was exceptional with a diligent and accommodating staff, especially for guests with dietary restrictions. The dining experience was delicious and abundant, served in a beautiful Japanese-style room overlooking a serene garden. The hotel offers private onsen facilities and a generous kaiseki dinner, perfect for relaxation. A drawback is the distance to some tourist attractions and the slightly outdated feel of the property.
